Pre and Post

It's post-industrial, pre-revoultuion America and safety is an allusion

It's preconceived notions of equality at the cost of humanity

It's sitting at home, sitting in your car, loving, living, breathing as a threat

It's hanging out, hanging around, hanging from trees

It's finding home in prison, projects, perpetual purgatory

It's post-racism, pre-justice america and you have to plan your last words

What's short enough to hashtag but strong enough to quote?

What's good enough to be a rap bar appropriating your life?

What if they #justiceforissac instead of #justiceforisaac?

Its post-"I Can't Breathe", pre-MLK Dream amerika and nothing's stronger than white fragility

It's fighting for liberation while praying for assimilation

It's forgetting home to find residence

It's killing you as fast as they kill the planet

It's post-melting pot, pre-internationalism amerikkka and billionaires are celebrities

It's right to life below right to profit

It's fearing and fetishizing

It's only living to 35

It's post-industrial, pre-revolution amerikkka and Gil Scott never said shit about Instagram
